Greater East Texas Black Nurses,Inc. honors Dr. Ellen G Redd Melton and Dr Carl U WestbrookII. Dr. Michael Tidwell, president of University of Texas at Tyler is the Keynote Speaker. The Greater East Texas Chaper of Black Nurses Incorporated is hosting its annual Recognition and Awards Dinner October 8th 2017 at the Arbors. this event is our fund raiser for the purpose of giving scholarships to minority nursing students. We are honoring Doctors Ellen G Redd Melton and Carl U Westbrook, II for their many years of service in the Community. Dr Ellen has practiced Pediatrics in Tyler for the past 34 years. She Currently has hospital affiliations with ETMC. She is the first African American female medical doctor from Lufkin. She is know by her peers as the "Miracle Maker." Dr Carl U Westbrook,II has been a practicing OB-GYN physician, he has been Chief - OB/GYN at Trinty Mother Frances and ETMC. Chief of Women's Health Division, total Health Care Center Tyler, Tx. He has earned the Youn man of the year, from the Delta Sigma Theta, Sorority, Inc. The Who's Who in Texas and Texas College UNCF Leadership Award.
